MATT CRAVEN

My work is motivated by my hometown and its conjoined grotty seaside resort. I'm inspired by its people, scumbags and holiday-makers who never made life dull. I work in small scale sculpture and hand drawn monoprints to evoke a nostalgia of a certain flavour. I employ black humour, a very limited pallet and an unfussy attitude with my work to go against the grain of much contemporary British illustration.

I will be featured in September's graduate issue of Creative Review [2011].
